Smart Inventory Service Responsive Website Design

Offering property inventory services to letting agents, landlords and tenants in London and the South East, Smart Inventory Service came to us for a professional looking and user friendly e-commerce site that would help new clients get on board quickly.

Smart’s clients will quite often use their services to settle or prevent disputes. So it’s important that customers dealing with problems or stressful situations are able to get the ball rolling from the Smart website. We set up an online booking system that can handle payments, so registered clients can place bookings from the site itself. Additionally, they can download copies of their reports and images and see their invoice history – all direct from the site.

We also made sure the website is responsive to the device it is viewed on. If the client is visiting a property or trying to organize things on a lunch break (or wherever) they can do so just as easily on their phone or tablet as they could on a desktop.

The Look:

We provided a clean and professional looking banner, with Smart’s logo and a bold phone number topping each page for quick conversion. Links to Smart’s social media accounts maximise engagement from the convergence of traffic. We also included two calls to action – to chat and to book online.

Landing on the homepage, users will notice the carousel banner transitioning between customer quotes, Smart’s AIIC accreditation, and a hard-hitting pitch to clients: “protect yourself against this” [photos of a trashed property]. A pleasing colour scheme gives users continuity between all the pages, and we made sure to embed images and reports throughout.

It is important to illustrate the intensive photography and report writing Smart do as part of their services – it’s what makes their work effective in settling disputes. The case studies are also a great way for Smart to show how their employees have gone above and beyond to help customers – a unique selling point.

Getting Things Organized:

Smart have a lot of information to show prospective clients. So we made sure the navigation bar has a manageable number of distinct category headings, with drop down lists where the information is subdivided – perfect for users in a hurry.

We set Smart up with a latest news page. This is a great way of establishing the voice and personality of the company. Take a look – they pay tribute to their new office air con, talk about ‘business over breakfast’ meetings… It’s all about pride and interest in the running of the business, and it reassures visitors that the company is dynamic and constantly changing, growing and improving. We made sure the latest posts are displayed in a box on the right of every page of the site.

Customer feedback is something new customers think to look for when they want confirmation about a firm – ‘what do other people say about them?’ We provided a page with embedded Feefo reviews, so that ratings and comments update as customers leave them.

Smart’s site now plays a twofold role: as a comprehensive and easily navigable resource for potential clients to discover the firm, and as a place for existing clients to access their services and user accounts as quickly as possible.
